My Paintings that Started the Project Wheel of Emotions

Before the sensors and the code, the 'Wheel of Emotion' began with a brushstroke. Conceived before the pandemic and brought to life during the isolation of COVID, this painting explores the invisible cycle of emotional inheritance.

Wheel Of Emotions

I have few iterations of this painting with different ways to demonstrate diversities in personalities.

It visualizes how the 'colors' of a parent first imprint upon a child, and how subsequent social interactions—both positive and negative—continue to sculpt that person’s development. Ultimately, the cycle completes as the individual passes those accumulated hues to the next generation starting from the blank canvas. What will they be?

This canvas was the origin of this social experiment, proving that the vibrant, messy impact we have on one another deserves to be seen.

Impact

This companion piece, created in response to a friend’s experience of heartbreak, explores the unequal dynamics of emotional exchange. It depicts two entities 'painting' one another with their internal states—one attempting to share light, the other imparting darkness.

The artwork highlights a stark reality I wanted to capture: sometimes, the tools of negativity are more efficient than those of light, allowing darkness to spread more easily than joy, companion, and love.

Designed to be viewed from multiple orientations, the painting challenges us to look at how we color the people we love, and how easily we can be colored by them in return.
